Terms of Use

These terms set clear expectations for using Tesstats. Please read them before connecting the app to a vehicle data server.

Important. Tesstats is a read only information tool. It is not a vehicle control, safety, emergency, or navigation system. It is an unofficial app with no relationship to Tesla, Inc. or the TeslaMate project.

1. Acceptance

By installing, building, or using Tesstats, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.

2. What Tesstats does

Tesstats displays data made available by services that you configure. These can include TeslaMate, MQTT, TeslaMateApi, device sensors, and optional read only Bluetooth telemetry.

Data can be delayed, incomplete, incorrect, or unavailable. Tesstats must not be the only source for a safety, charging, maintenance, financial, tax, or travel decision.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for your server, network, certificates, accounts, credentials, backups, and legal use of all connected services. You must have permission to access every vehicle and server that you add.

You are also responsible for checking exported data before using it for work, tax, reimbursement, or legal records.

4. Driver Display and road safety

Driver Display is a supplemental screen. Configure it before the vehicle moves. Do not hold, adjust, or study a device while driving.

Use the vehicle display, road signs, official warnings, and your own judgment as the primary sources. Tesstats does not provide turn guidance. It does not know every road condition or vehicle state.

5. Software license and availability

Tesstats is free software. Its source code is published on GitHub under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0-only). That license governs copying, modifying, and redistributing the code, including the obligation to share the source of modified versions.

Builds are distributed through channels selected by the developer, such as TestFlight. Earlier releases that included a different software license remain governed by the license supplied with those releases.

6. No warranty

Tesstats is provided as available and without a promise that it will be accurate, secure, uninterrupted, or fit for a specific purpose. To the widest extent allowed by law, the contributors are not liable for loss or damage caused by use of the app or reliance on its output.

Some places do not allow every warranty limit. In those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.

7. Other products and services

Tesstats can work with services from other projects and companies. Their own terms apply. Tesstats contributors do not control those services and cannot promise that they remain available or compatible.

For a Tesla account, vehicle, charging, or official app issue, use Tesla Support. For a TeslaMate server issue, use the TeslaMate documentation or its community.

8. Changes and availability

Features, compatibility, and these terms may change. The project can stop or change a release at any time. The current terms are published on this page.

9. Governing rules

Local consumer rights that cannot be waived remain in place. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

10. Contact

For a question about these terms, open an issue in the Tesstats issue tracker on GitHub. Never post credentials or private vehicle data.
